I think the HDL should consider a innings count per game for pitchers. Maybe max of 5 innings per game. Seems like last year may have hurt some of our better pitchers in the league. Maybe even 3 innings max for 1st half of season. Would really suck to have our best pitchers unavailable for the post season. May be just bad luck this year? Just something I’ve noticed this year and we need to protect our leagues arms.

Jocko: Good points. The weather, injuries and uncommitted players have made weekly game line-ups difficult for managers. Dissolving our poorest performing team and combining players to a team that needs and appreciates the value of some excellent players will only make the league stronger. As long as we have been playing and reminding players they must pay their dues or can’t play, we still have a few players who are taking advantage of teams being short and allowing non-paid players to fill spots of paid players who don’t show up. Re-building 4 teams that will have enough players each week to make-up a full line-up will stop some of the abuse you have pointed out.

Hello My HDL family.
From sunny southwest Florida. I hope all this Covid mess will soon be a thing of the past and HDL Baseball can resume like normal. I often think of you guys and wish I was still there playing. However, my golf game has picked up and I am learning to play with a bad leg. I hope the season is a good one however much you guys get to play. Drink a beer for me during the tail gate. Or coaching third base. Ha.

I’ve been thinking about getting back into baseball. The last time I played was 17 years ago and I was on the Braves with Jody Wolfe. What steps do I need to take to back into the swing of things?

Will #10 on the braves break out of his slump today?

The rook on the Braves is locked in to get the batting title. The only thing holding him back will be a biased score keeper. Hit a frozen rope last night and was given a reached on error. What gives ?!!!

1-0 on the Braves was all over the field today at tobey! Hit the ball hard 3 times and got on base once, drove in 2 big runs. 1-0 also threw out a runner. Still a lot of season left but the rookie from Hoover is making his case for ROY. Possibly league MVP! Great pickup skip!

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE
The game was tough, the stakes were high,
But we kept our heads up, and didn’t shy.
Our team was strong, our spirits high,
And I was there, to help them try.
I cheered them on, with all my might,
And helped them see, the end in sight.
We pushed ourselves, to reach the goal,
And when we won, it made us whole.
The victory was sweet, but so was the fight,
And I was proud, to be by their side that night.
For being the emotional support, is a special role,
And I was honored, to help them reach their goal.
ILL BE BETTER.

BRAVES CLINCH THE #1 SPOT
ROY favorite Carter White had a bit of a mixed game. He went 1-4 at the plate, which means he got one hit out of the four times he batted. He did manage to bring in two RBIs and scored three runs himself. However, his play in the field is what’s most concerning his skipper after looking shaky at third base (x errors) Mistakes like that will almost certainly have huge implications during the postseason! His day at the plate today will lower his batting average, but one game doesn’t define a player. I wouldn’t worry too much about someone sneaking up and taking the batting title because of this one game! He wants it!

Walter White may very well be the League MVP, deservingly so. But, can Walter throw 156 pitches in 1 game? I know a guy.
